2 October: The Caledonian Lecture, Field Marshal Haig

The Caledonian Lecture is an annual celebration of Scots who have lived and worked overseas, making a contribution to their adopted country but retaining their Scottish traditions and values. This year’s Lecture will re-examine the role of Field Marshal Earl Haig during the First World War conflct and in peacetime.

17 November: Family Ceilidh at St Columba’s

Family Ceilidh to celebrate Scots in Great War London Saturday, November 17, 6.30 for 7pm , until 10.30pm, St Columba’s Church Pipes & Drums of the London Scottish Regiment, display of Highland dancing, community singing of WWI songs and easy dances, all pre-1918, will be called.

Scots In Great War London launches

Ten Scottish organisations based in London have come together to commemorate the centenary of the end of the First World War in 2018.  HRH The Princess Royal is the Patron of the Scots In Great War London Group.  

26 June: Commemorative Book Launch

With chapters written by each of the ten organisations, a new commemorative book entitled Scots in Great War London: A Community at Home and on the Front Line 1914-1919, published by Helion, was launched at a special event at the Caledonian Club on Tuesday 26 June.
